IDENTIDAD RAMONE

Los integrantes de la banda adoptaron el apellido “Ramone”, basándose en el seudónimo que utilizaba Paul McCartney para registrarse en los hoteles durante sus giras con The Beatles.



Ahora necesitaban un logo que los identifique. Para ello tomaron el escudo de los Estados Unidos, y modificaron ligeramente algunas de las características de éste. En el diseño original, aparece un águila de cabeza blanca (águila calva, ave nacional de EEUU) sosteniendo en una garra una rama de olvio que simboliza la paz, y en la otra un manojo de 13 flechas, una por cada uno de los Estados originales que formaron el país. A cambio de esto, la banda optó por reemplazarel manojo de flechas por un bate y colocar las flechas (que no prerecisamente fueron 13) sobre el águila dando la impresión que estas ya estaban disipadas en el aire. Todo lo que pudiera darles un aire de rebeldía y tragresión era bienvenido. Además cambiaron la frase inscripta en el listón que porta el águila de "E pluribus unum" (en latín "De muchos, uno") a "Look out below".

En cuanto a la indumentaria, resulta muy simple reconocer a un Ramone: por lo general vestían jeans chupin (preferentemente rotos y desgastados), zapatillas y remeras humildes y sencillas, campera de cuero negro (de vez en cuando con algún detalle como parches o pines). También solían utilizar lentes oscuros y cinturones de tachas (en especial Joey).

RAMONES

Ramones fue una de las bandas de punk que más sensación causó a lo largo de todo el globo terraquio, en especial en los años 80s. Surge en Forest Hills, en el distrito de Queens, Nueva York (Estados Unidos) en el año 1974. Todo comienza cuando Thomas Erdélyi (Tommy Ramone) crea su propia sala de ensayo en la calle 20 de Park Avenue South en Manhattan, el Performance Studio. Es cuando en marzo de ese año comienza a ensayar allí con un grupo de amigos: John Cummings (Johnny Ramone) en guitarra; Douglas Colvin (Dee Dee Ramone) en guitarra rítmica y voz; Jeffrey Hyman (Joey Ramone) en batería; y un tal Richie en el bajo, quien desertaría después de dos días de ensayo. El grupo comenzó a ensayar con esa formación temas rápidos y cortos hasta que con el tiempo, la formación fue reconstituida ya que Dee Dee se sentía incómodo tocando y cantando al mismo tiempo. La nueva formación fue con Johnny en guitarra, Dee Dee en bajo, Joey en voz y Tommy, que hasta ese entonces había sido el manager de la banda, en batería.
